Did I say that I would never run a Marathon, again? I’m not sure I did say that for sure, because as most of you know, I have a very poor memory. And so, Robbyn and I will be running the Foot Traffic Flat Marathon in Sauvie Island, Oregon, just North of Portland on July 4th this year. And, before that, I will run my favorite race in Spokane – the Windermere Half Marathon with my dad on May 14th. And, I will record every bit of my training on my blog.
And, because I want to make a difference, I have joined Running Hope, which is an organization which will help me to raise awareness of the orphan’s dilemma and will benefit organizations who are helping make a difference in their lives all over the world.
Running Hope is closely partnered with Show Hope and that’s where the difference is made. I have been inspired by my sister over and over again and her tireless desire to help these kids that have been born into an impossible situation. It has become very personal as I have witnessed the changes in 2 little girls from China whose lives will be forever altered because of a family’s sacrifice and willingness to reach out. And so, I try to make a difference here.
My goal is simple: $100 for every mile I will run in the Marathon. Please help me by donating or spreading the word or starting your own page. And, follow this blog if you’re interested in training for a Half Marathon or Marathon.
This is great, Cassi. I can't contribute yet (must have income for that), but I will post on my blog. Enjoy your training!
